KIERAN MORONEY
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
With a career spanning Australia and New York, Kieran Moroney is a creative leader known for building inventive, effective work that connects brands, people and culture.
His work often sits at the intersection of creativity, technology and human behaviour — from creating the world’s first fitness tracker for chickens with FitChix for Honest Eggs Co., to launching Sip Safe, a drug-detection wristband with Monash University, to using AI in Lost in Translation to help the Royal Australian Navy recruit cryptologic linguists before AI became the industry’s favourite topic.
That approach has led to some of Australia’s most recognised creative work of recent years. FitChix became one of the most awarded campaigns in the world, winning across innovation, effectiveness, commerce, data, outdoor, health and sustainability. More importantly, it helped drive extraordinary growth for an independent Australian food brand by turning a simple product truth into a tangible consumer proof point.
Beyond individual campaigns, Kieran has helped build enduring platforms for major Australian institutions and brands. This includes the Royal Australian Navy’s five-year recruitment platform Live a Story Worth Telling and Victoria’s Big Build, the long-running behavioural-change campaign for the Victorian Government.
He has been recognised as the #1 ranked Creative Director in Australia and #14 globally by The Drum, with over 200 awards across Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Spikes Asia, LIA, New York Festivals, Clios, WARC, the Effies and AWARD Awards. But his broader reputation is built on using creativity to create proof, shift behaviour, solve business problems and make brands impossible to ignore.
Kieran is also committed to developing the next generation of creative talent. He has served two terms as State Head of AWARD School, mentored young creatives through One Club and LIA Liaisons, and judged shows including New York Festivals, Spikes Asia and AWARD Awards.
Outside advertising, he has a young family and is an avid backcountry fly-fisher. So when he’s not spending time with them, he is most likely waist-deep in a river.
